It is a classic malt whisky from the Western Highlands, produced in downtown Oban. Oban is the border between the West Highlands and the Islands. It is the point where land meets sea. The port offers complete coverage and makes the area the main sea route to the islands and the capital of the West Highlands. The climate is mild and temperate, warmed by the Gulf Stream and regulated (too often for some) by the gentle rain that often falls around here. The misty and humid character of the region, with heather and peat as a background, is perfectly reflected in the malt whisky produced by Oban.
