Fiji 2009 belongs to the Vintage collection of Plantation rum. It is the result of a collaboration between Fiji Distillery – South Pacific Distillery and Alexandre Gabriel, master blender of Plantation rum. The rum has been distilled in Column Still & Pot Still in 2009 and has undergone 7 years of tropical aging in former bourbon barrels. He then traveled by sea to the southwest of France where he rested for another 2 years in the French oak barrels of Ferrand. Intense aromas of prickly pears, create a woody and oily profile. Then it changes, becoming more fruity and spicy with notes of banana, pecan, nutmeg and oats. Rich and round, the rum diffuses notes of buttery caramel with vanilla, cocoa, hazelnut and coconut.
