Dalmore Alexander III is an excellent single malt whisky from the Dalmore Distillery, which is renowned for the luxury and complexity of its spirits.
Characteristics of Dalmore Alexander III:
• Type: Single Malt Scotch Whisky
• Origin: Highlands, Scotland
• Alcohol: 40% ABV
Maturation & Taste:
The Dalmore Alexander III matures in a unique composition of barrels, including former American oak bourbon barrels, barrels that hosted rare sherry (such as Matusalem Oloroso), wine from Cabernet Sauvignon, and barrels used for Madeira and Marsala.
This complex maturation process gives it a rich and balanced taste, with notes:
• Nose: Chocolate, orange, caramel and dried fruits.
• Taste: Spices, roasted almonds, cocoa and a hint of red fruit.
• Aftertaste: Long and velvety, with notes of vanilla and sweet spices.
History & Inspiration:
The name Alexander III comes from the Scottish king Alexander III, whose life was saved by the ancestor of the Mackenzie family, who later became the owner of the distillery. To commemorate this act of bravery, the king allowed them to use the royal deer symbol with 12 horns, which adorns every bottle of Dalmore.
Review:
Dalmore Alexander III is a top choice for those who love rich, complex whiskies. It is suitable for enjoying plain or with a little water, in order to highlight all its flavors.
