To honor GlenDronach’s early legacy of whiskey production, Master Blender Dr. Rachel Barrie created The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated using the same principles established by founder James Allardice nearly two centuries ago. At that time it was traditional practice in the Highlands to burn peat in the kiln towards the end of malting the barley, creating a rich and warm, earthy smoke. Interwoven with the rugged Highland character, The GlenDronach Traditionally Peated has been crafted to these traditional levels and features all the richness of The GlenDronach. Aged in the finest Pedro Ximénez, Oloroso sherry and Port casks, this rare peated expression of The GlenDronach features notes of toffee caramel, spoon sweet and smoked raspberry, with a prolonged, rich and earthy finish. As with all The GlenDronach expressions, all natural color comes from slow maturation in Spanish oak barrels.
