Jack Daniel’s is produced in the same traditional way that its creator first defined 142 years ago. The materials used are exclusively from the land of Tennessee: cereals and crystal clear underground water. Unlike bourbon whiskey, Tennessee whiskey goes through an extra process before being enclosed in a barrel for maturation. The very slow filtration through maple charcoal, this meticulous and time-consuming process, is crucial in achieving its high quality and rich taste, Each drop goes through the “journey” of filtration in 4 to 6 days. During this time, it gets rid of all unwanted substances, while at the same time it is enriched with unique aromas from maple charcoal. After distillation, Jack Daniel’s matures in the cellars in new white oak barrels, made in the distillery’s barrel shop. During its maturation, it absorbs various components from the wood of the barrel, which give it its characteristic flavor and deep red hue.
