As its name and beautiful label suggest, Pétalos is the freshest and simplest wine of the Descendientes de J. Palacios. But don’t expect anything simple from Álvaro Palacios: 95% Mencia from plants up to 100 years old (the rest are white varieties and Alicante Bouchet), while some vineyards are close to 1,000 meters high. Aging in old barrels takes about ten months.If this wine doesn’t make you love Mencia, then Mencia is probably not to your taste!
