Tequila Komos Anejo Cristalino is an amazing tequila like you’ve never tried before. Casa Komos Brands Group, to which he belongs, was founded in 2019 by Richard Betts and Joe Marchese with the aim of creating premium spirits. The first spirit they started with was the one they knew best of all, Tequila. This is how Tequila Komos Anejo Cristalino was born.
Its basis is blue agave collected by hand from the slopes and lowlands of Jalisco. The agave is then traditionally baked in ovens, followed by double distillation in copper distillation columns. The distillate is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels that have aged white wine and not bourbon as is usually done. Then it is passed through a carbon column to remove all “superfluous” and leave the crystal distillate (hence cristalino). Finally, before bottling, the distillate matures in Greek amphorae in order to come into contact with as much oxygen as it needs to become full-bodied, round.
Tequila Komos Anejo Cristalino has a transparent, crystal color and aromas of caramelized pineapple, lime zest, flowers, tobacco, cedar and spices from the barrel. In the mouth alcohol is beautifully integrated into the ensemble. It has a medium body and oily texture. The fruits in the mouth have sweetness and a botanical dimension on a mineral background.
